Dental Implants: Strong, Secure, and Built to Last

Dental implants are an excellent alternative to that of bridges and dentures. They are natural-looking, permanent, and can be cared for the same as with your real teeth. They have a distinct advantage over dentures as no adhesives will be needed. They will not need to be removed from your mouth to clean them, when you sleep at night, or for hospital procedures. You can enjoy the foods you want without fear of denture slippage or the worry of certain foods becoming temporarily trapped between your dentures and your gums.

Dental implants can be implanted wherever they are needed, anywhere in the mouth. In the event you are missing one tooth or several teeth, they will look, feel, and function like your natural teeth. It is important to replace a missing tooth in order to prevent other teeth from shifting and trying to “fill in” the void. Whether the missing tooth is visible, or near the back and not highly visible, doesn’t matter; your teeth will all suffer from the loss of one tooth, no matter where it was. Another good reason to replace a missing tooth/teeth with dental implants is to prevent bone atrophy. Once the tooth’s root no longer provides stimulation for the jawbone, bone loss begins to occur. This can also have a domino effect on surrounding teeth and jaw in the vicinity and can
cause problems for them. If you are uncertain about how a missing tooth will impact your remaining teeth, Dr. Gerel Emgushova can address this with you.

Oral Surgery / Extractions: Gentle Tooth Removal

In some cases it may be necessary to extract a tooth. Impacted wisdom teeth, a tooth that is not savable with root canal therapy, crown placement or a filling will need to be extracted. If you need to have a tooth extracted, Deerpath Orthodontics & Family Dental will do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable and that you will not experience any pain or discomfort. The area surrounding the tooth will be numbed, and in some cases, you may need anesthesia or a sedative. These are only used if needed to ensure your comfort and to ward off pain. After the tooth is extracted, you can expect some minor bleeding and you may be prescribed an antibiotic, depending on the nature of the extraction. After the extraction, cold compresses on the outer cheek area will help with swelling and will ease discomfort. Just be sure not to smoke, drink through a straw, and avoid hard tooth brushing until the area has completely healed in order to avoid unnecessary complications.

Bone Grafting: Restoring Strength Below the Surface

Deerpath Orthodontics & Family Dental takes all necessary steps to prevent bone resorption after tooth extraction. Dr. Gerel Emgushova takes proactive steps to use a specially bioengineered graft material that will be placed inside the socket of the extracted tooth. This material will support new bone growth, and will also preserve overlying soft tissue and preserve bone after tooth extraction. This process is necessary to prevent cosmetic defects and functionality that may occur after tooth extraction.

Dental Implants

A long-lasting solution for missing teeth, dental implants restore function, strength, and the natural look of your smile—root to crown.

Tooth Extractions

Whether due to damage, infection, or overcrowding, our gentle extraction process prioritizes your comfort and long-term oral health.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting rebuilds jaw structure to support future implants or restore lost volume—creating a strong foundation for your smile.
